Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Virtual Cookbook application (virtualcookbook.eu), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the service.

2. Description of Service

Virtual Cookbook provides a platform for users to create, store, and manage culinary recipes, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate recipes from ingredients and extract text from images. This service is provided as a beta testing environment and is subject to change, interruption, or termination without notice.

3. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms. You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password.

4. Content and AI Generation

Our Service allows you to post, link, store, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, or other material ("Content"). You retain all rights to your Content.

You acknowledge that recipe generation and image scanning are powered by third-party AI models (Google Gemini). While we strive for accuracy, Virtual Cookbook does not guarantee the safety, palatability, or exactness of AI-generated recipes. You are solely responsible for ensuring that recipes are safe to consume and verifying cooking temperatures, especially concerning food allergies and raw ingredients.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to bypass the AI generation rate limits or abuse the AI API endpoints.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers.

6. Beta Testing Phase & Limitations

Virtual Cookbook is currently in a closed beta phase, limited to a maximum of 100 users. The administrators reserve the right to close registration, suspend accounts, or delete the database at their sole discretion during this phase. We are not liable for any loss of recipes or data during this testing period.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply do so via the Delete Account button in your Profile settings.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
